the new place
after the packing last week of may–made all the easier because of our previous experience with moving–my family moved successfully into the new place in kembengan.
very quiet and cosy neighbourhood, with convenient places for food. 5 mins from MRT, with park connectors that are good for the avid runner. not to mention, my room has 2 full length mirrors attached to my closet doors, and my bed is just a simple queen sized mattress that can be propped up against the wall to allow me room to do all the dancing i desire! granted that i don’t have the same convenience as i did staying in town–like walking to work, or having a very central free car park area…–but the results weren’t bad at all!
the sofa just moved in this week too. so finally all the furnishings is in. i’m just amazed at how fast we’ve grown accustomed to thinking of the place as home. you would think that being “yanked” out of the central district into a “far-flung” location would bring it with some ill feelings. i guess the east is really the east. it calms the mind with its peaceful environment. and soothes the hunger with good food. *shrug*
anyhow, i’m liking the new place. if i ever get about to it, i’ll have some pics to show, yea?
Re-discovering Vana’diel
it has been some time since the last update. while there are probably other momentous things that have happened (for e.g. birthdays and holidays) and while i appreciate all of those happenings for… well, happening, there was something about once again indulging in the rich virtual experience of breathing the Vana’diel air, seeing the Vana’diel sights, whacking the Vana’diel creatures, and of course tasting the Vana’diel soil that begs to be blogged.
i believe it has almost been a year since i last played. sure, there were some very dramatic changes:
- i gave my hume (read: human) character to tristan (fka chris)
- he transferred that character to odin
- i restarted a new taru-taru (read: shortie) character, half the size of my previous hume
- had an “anniversary ring” that gives extra experience points per battle
- how expensive everything was for the newbie
- kept the “?” next to my name for the longest time to avoid being criticized for lack of skill!
but there were also some similarities:
- restarted in windurst (the land of the taru-tarus)
- playing catch-up with familiar friends (you know who you are)
- the thrill of one-hit kills
- the laid back-ness of “farming” (act of killing creatures for drops to sell for money)
- and the exasperation of dying from “poison” and “dia”!
2 months into it, i’m a lvl 18 Monk (read: up-close-and-personal-hand-to-hand-fighter) and a lvl 10 Warrior (read: do you see this gleaming great axe? that’s the last thing you’ll see!). not great achievements, but real life lloyd comes first before Vana’diel (read: i get to play when he sleeps! =p).

i’m enthuz. on cerberus. and i’m once again breathing the air of Vana’diel!
